OceansMap

Tetra Tech Ocean Science

Data management, maritime planning, water quality, operational response - regardless of your application, OceansMap makes met-ocean data easy.

Our Consulting Services & Products are led with a deep understanding of the natural environment and impacts to and from human use. Through measurement, modeling, and data analysis, our dedicated scientists and engineers help inform our clients’ strategic choices.

We study the natural environment through the lens of human activities and natural changes that may impact our oceans, coastal zones, rivers, lakes, land surfaces, and atmosphere. Our expertise and specialised knowledge enable our clients to assess the potential effects to the natural system and human uses so they may interact with natural resources in an environmentally sensitive manner. Working regularly with industry, government, and academic entities, we develop and maintain industry-leading tools and bespoke solutions to solve problems that matter to our clients.

Coastal Resiliency & Infrastructure

Our Software Systems and Consulting team is comprised of Software Engineers, Scientists, Data Managers and GIS specialists collaborating to develop innovative solutions to solve complex problems.

Our solutions are diverse and technology agnostic, allowing for seamless access to complex data aligned to both external customer requirements and our internal consulting team. Custom project solutions are often developed into commercial product offerings. From the implementation of server infrastructure technologies to web services, middleware, desktop and web-based clients, we design and manage leading data management and research projects for a number of government agencies. Leveraging commercial cloud infrastructure, we manage complex multi-variable datasets such as ocean measurements, weather models, vessel traffic, climate and flood data, and 3D engineering and design data.

We are a highly skilled and collaborative team of Software Engineers with expertise ranging from cutting-edge to legacy technologies, specializing in scalable, high-performance, cloud-native solutions. Shifting from a project-based to a product-focused strategy, we now prioritize broad, strategic thinking to create versatile solutions that serve multiple clients, rather than tailoring to just one.

What is OceansMap?

OceansMap is a web based tool that provides industry leading met ocean data management, visualization and analysis capabilities used by marine operations specialists around the world.

It is a data ecosystem; behind the UI a collection of harvesters, processors, and services that brings together environmental data and forecasts from disparate sources, applies community standards, and ensures availability for visualization, analysis and decision support.

It includes a variety of tools to analyze data and create trajectory models enabling users to make informed decisions.

Insights Dashboard

The OceansMap insights dashboard is a fully customizable presentation scape that can adapt to a user’s operational needs. Multiple dashboards can be created, saved, and shared by users to provide situational awareness at key locations and assets. Using a dashboard to present complex met-ocean data offers numerous benefits. The dashboard provides a consolidated view of essential metocean parameters and enables decision-makers to quickly assess the current conditions, identify trends, and understand the impact on their operations.
